The Tony Hawk Ride on Wii is a game in a category of its own. There’s no other like it and you’ll see that its uniqueness extends to the gadgets you’ll be using. The game has a pretty large collection of songs that continue on the long-standing videogame tradition. The songs range from solid tracks to beats you’ll want to dance with. Every one of them works well enough in the context.

As soon as you are confident with your skills, you get to go up a level that requires more difficult footwork and stunts. The board becomes very responsive to your body movements and any tilt sends you along on your way. You earn 2 points for every challenge completed and the tricks get 35. On the 3rd and 4th stages, they can even go as high as 40 or more so you won’t feel the need to do challenges. Some of the stages require at least 75 points to move on to the next level and getting higher is obviously much better.

The never ending rides become more memorable as you earn new gears. The Tony Hawk: Ride is an attempt to reinvent and transform the skating genre with the use of a motion sensing skateboard peripheral. The board comes with a solid construction and can sense movement from any which way efficiently. The nose and tail are also amazingly sturdy. You will find that as you lean back and forth, you will actually feel as if you’re on the real thing. Earn the points while you enjoy the feel of the board!
