The Modes on the Tony Hawk Ride
The game itself comes in three gameplay modes. First, there’s a race mode where you will be asked to race through levels collecting green icons. The more icons you gather, the more seconds you zap off your time. The red icons, on the other hand, should be avoided at all costs because these add time penalties. The second mode is called the trick mode. This is where you’re allotted several minutes to score as many points as possible. The higher you score, the more benchmarks you get to unlock. Lastly, the third mode has a pre-designed line set up. This one will require you to hit all the right tricks in the right order as you travel down the track.
To enhance your experience in every level, the board comes with a nice finish to keep your feet from slipping and make you feel that you are firmly planted atop the board. You will also see two internal accelerometers to detect front to back and side to side motion. These four sensors on each side of the board are able to read any hand and foot movement. The clever design makes you feel as if you actually have wheels below. This is one skating experience you shouldn’t miss. With the wonderful tradition Wii has successfully started, this is yet another of its latest and most interesting addition. All you need is some time to practice and hone your skills. Pretty soon, you’ll see yourself going through levels like a true professional.
